Free Document Shred Event April 20
The Amherst Recycling and Waste Committee announces a free document shred event will be held from 9 AM to Noon Saturday, April 20 at BankOnBuffalo's East Amherst SMART Center, located at 827 Hopkins Road. Shred-it will have a truck on site to handle the destruction of papers. Limit is 2 boxes. Eventgoers are asked to bring non-perishable food items for Society of St. Vincent de Paul. Starting April 1 residents can put out yard compost materials on their regular collection day. The material must be properly bundled and or packaged for pickup. For a complete explanation of guidelines, please see the link below.

Street Light Conversion to LED
Starting the week of May 15, 2023, contractors will begin converting all street lights in the Town of Amherst to LED lighting. This project will take up to a full year to complete. Residents can call the Highway Department at (716) 631-7117 for more information.
