2024 Painted Traffic Boxes Contest


The Town of Amherst Arts & Culture in Public Places Board (ACPPB) is excited to announce the 2024 Painted Traffic Boxes Contest. This is our fifth year painting the Town of Amherst’s traffic boxes. All artists interested in making their mark in the Town of Amherst should apply! Wouldn’t it be great to have an intersection identified by your painted traffic box design? The theme for our contest is Amherst is Arts and Culture. The deadline for design submission is April 7, 2024. The ACPPB will select the six lucky submissions. Mission Statement

To promote public art and culture within the town and to collaborate and cooperate with various and appropriate individuals, groups, associations, organizations and institutions concerned with art and culture to promote, ensure and enhance the function, object and mission of the visual and performing arts in the Town of Amherst.

The Town of Amherst Arts and Culture in Public Places Board (ACPPB), a wholly volunteer organization, established in 1998, celebrates 25 years of service to the community. The ACPPB provides free concerts, solicits the artists who paint the beautiful traffic signal boxes in town, has the dynamic speaker series - Let's Do Lunch, and provides Art stART for children at the Williamsville Farmers Market. Plans to add more ACPPB projects are in the works for 2024. The Board meets on the second Tuesday of the month at the Town Hall Council Members' conference room, 5583 Main Street, Williamsville at 7:00 PM. Town of Amherst residents are encouraged to attend/join.
