Sheridan/Evans:

- Biography
- Inspiration: "My inspiration for the theme, Amherst is Arts and Culture, is derived from our town’s preservation of green space. In addition to providing a healthy and family friendly environment, green space provides food and shelter for wildlife, particularly birds. The three bird species, Screech Owl, Red-bellied Woodpecker and White Breasted Nuthatch were all photographed by me within our town. I hope my creation will be a reminder to all of the importance green space plays in our community."

- Inspiration:"Working collaboratively, Annette and Kim found their inspiration for the traffic box on the Corner of Sheridan Drive and Mill Street from the Williamsville Water Mill giving Mill Street its name. Kim and Annette selected Van Gogh’s “The Old Mill” painting to highlight the proximity to this piece of Amherst’s cultural history. The original of this Van Gogh painting is owned by Albright Knox Art Gallery."

- Biography
- Inspiration: "My inspiration for this piece came from seeing a test pattern on television one night ...it is a beautiful graphic, and it is a vestige of yesteryear...I did a painting on canvas of the test pattern And I enjoyed doing it and people love it… and this opportunity arose I thought of something bold and graphic that people could notice as they’re driving and it wouldn’t distract them because they don’t have to visually scrutinize it for details... it’s also a statement about how technology has evolved rapidly and that may not be such a good thing in certain ways."

- Inspiration: "As the traffic box is facing our elementary school, we decided on a POP ART creation of child-like drawings on notebook paper, full of bold lines and primary colors. The drawings are reflections about the history of Amherst, like the Maple-Forest Schoolhouse, water mill, town hall, logos of Amherst community support (fire and police), and flora and fauna to represent our beautiful parks. We hope that each time our families pass by the traffic box they discover a new fun image to love!"
