2024 Assessment Equity Project
The 2024 has concluded and the town was successful in bringing everyone to 100% of full market value. It’s important to remember this project did not raise tax dollars, but is simply a way to insure that everyone is paying their fair share of the tax levy, based on their value.
The Town of Amherst final assessment roll has been set for 2024-2025. During the Assessment Revaluation Project, the town contracted with GAR Associates to prepare a website (“Pros”) for property research, comparable sales and assessments, etc. Since that project concluded at the end of June, 2024, the town is relaunching the Comprehensive Property Information portal (CPI). The CPI portal has updated assessment values, property sales, etc. as well as property tax information that includes two-years of tax history and true tax calculations.
Questions regarding the Assessment Revaluation project or property assessments should be directed to the Town of Amherst Assessor’s Office: (716) 631-7038 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM (Mon-Fri). Questions about property taxes should be directed to the Amherst Town Clerk / Tax Receiver: (716) 631-7021, 8:30 AM - 4:00 PM (Mon-Fri).
