Police Divisions /  Special Victims Unit

Special Victims Unit (SVU)

The Special Victims Unit was created to handle cold cases, sexual assaults, elder abuse, domestic violence and juvenile related matters. The Unit is also tasked with keeping our schools safe. It is comprised of five (5) Detectives and two (2) Officers, all of whom have gone through specialized training. Each Officer, on any given day, will be following up on a lead to an unsolved homicide, tracking a rapist, helping a child with abusive parents or dealing with a school related issue.
