  • A wastewater treatment facility removes numerous pollutants such as dirt, fats, oils, grease, ammonia, phosphorus, nitrogen and bacteria.
  • The Town of Amherst’s wastewater facility processes an average of 24 million gallons of wastewater per day.
  • Wastewater treatment provides valuable products including reclaimed water for irrigation and biosolids for fertilizer.
