Mission Statement
The Amherst Industrial Development Agency is a full service economic development organization formed under Article 18-A of New York State's Municipal Law. Since 1973, our primary purpose has been to promote regional employment growth through the attraction, expansion and retention of companies within the Town of Amherst to achieve our mission:
"To promote economic diversity and to broaden the tax base of the Town of Amherst in order to reduce the tax burden on homeowners, while helping to maintain and enhance a high quality living environment."
In addition, we act as a conduit to state and other local economic development programs that support the continued growth and vitality of the business community.
