Anyone desiring to conduct Bingo games in the Town of Amherst must obtain a Bingo license through the Town Clerk's Office. The license fee is $18.75 per Bingo session.
Authorized organizations include bona fide religious, charitable or nonprofit organizations. To obtain a license, file a written application (Form BC-5) with the Town Clerk which must include sufficient facts relating to incorporation and organization to enable the Town Board to determine whether or not it is a bona fide authorized organization. An active member of the organization must be designated under whom the games described in the application are to be held, operated and conducted. In the event that any premises upon which such game of chance is to be held, operated or conducted is to be leased from another person, persons or corporation, a written statement, signed and verified under oath, must list the amount of rent.
Within 7 days after the conclusion of holding a bingo event, the organization shall furnish the Town Clerk a duly verified statement (Form BC-7) showing the financial receipts of the event.
