Hunting and Fishing Licenses

Hunting season runs from September 1st (of the current year) through August 31st (of the following year). Anyone wishing to renew a hunting license needs to provide an old hunting license or a training certificate and a New York State driver’s license. New licenses may be obtained by presenting proof of training certificates and a valid driver’s license.

Fishing season runs for one year from the purchase date of the license. Please consult www.dec.ny.gov/permits for current fees. Also visit the website for categories of individuals who may hunt or fish for a reduced fee.
